Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, yet it is the meal most often skipped by students. Students are rushing in the morning to get to school on time; breakfast is the last of their priorities, and is easily missed. But what if there was breakfast waiting for you at school when you arrived?
Taking one thing off of that morning to do list and giving students an opportunity to have that breakfast that they skipped, the Grab and Go breakfast program is a wonderful program started up by members of the Humanitarian Club. Every morning, they offer different breakfast options, ranging from muffins to fruits to yogurt parfaits, with all of it being completely free because of the generous community. Students can grab breakfast and go, or they also have the option to stay and sit while eating.
“It’s a great opportunity for all of the students. It’s good for their health too, because they really need breakfast to get through the long school days.”
-Brenna Whalley, Grade 10 Breakfast Program Leader.
The Grab and Go breakfast program has been a great success, with a lot of people coming every morning for a great and nutritional breakfast to start off their day. There is something different every day, so there is definitely no lack of variety! It is open to all students, held in the cafeteria every morning, so don’t worry about breakfast being part of your daily morning struggles, and just grab it and go when you come to school!
If you want Grab and Go Breakfast it is served daily in the cafeteria from 7:50 to 8:20.
