Recently, the world has suffered many casualties and tragedy’s due to things like Climate Change. Protests have been held all over the world to try and spread a message to stop it. These protests are directly aimed at The Government for apparently not doing anything, while the people protesting aren’t doing anything either which is quite hypocritical. A YouTuber who has been exploding lately named Mr. Beast, born Jimmy Donaldson, has teamed up with https://teamtrees.org/ to try and plant 20 million trees by 2020. This campaign, known as #TeamTrees, has gained national headlines and the attention of several other huge YouTuber’s, company CEO’s, and other foundations.
Celebrities such as Tobi Lutke (Shopify CEO, $1,000,001), Elon Musk (Tesla & Space X CEO, $1,000,000), Marc Benioff (Founder of Salesforce, $900,000), Jack Dorsey (CEO & Co-Founder of Twitter, $350,000), ELF Development A/S (Real estate developer based in Denmark, $250,000), MrBeast (#TeamTrees Co-Founder & YouTuber, $200,002), Susan Wojcicki (YouTube CEO, $200,000), Jean-Michel Lemieux (Chief Technology Officer of Shopify, $100,100), Alan Walker (One of the greatest DJ’s and Record Producers of all time, 100,001), Verizon Green Team (Verizon Wireless’ Green Team, $100,000), and PewDiePie (Most subscribed YouTube channel of all time, $69,420.)
In only two weeks, the movement has already over 15 million american dollars. That means even if the goal of 20 million by 2020 doesn’t get achieved, 15 million or more will still be planted. All donations will go to the Arbor Day Foundation, a tree-planting organization that pledges to plant one tree for every U.S. dollar donated. Hitting this goal by 2020 doesn’t seem like a problem with the millions of supporters promoting this on the daily.
