On Friday, March 10th, students and staff of WGSS expressed their personal styles by wearing creative and unique outfits but all with the same material: denim. Before school, in the foyer, Student Council distributed candy to everyone who had shown school spirit by wearing denim. Jeans, shorts, skirts, shirts, jackets, dresses, overalls. Anything with denim. The sky’s the limit when it comes to the possibilities of outfits with denim.
“It was a fun day where you could have matched your friends and gotten free candy. So really, it was a ‘two-in-one’.” -Stephanie Broda, Grade 8 Student Council Rep
Denim on Denim day was a fantastic and fashionable way to end school and start spring break with some spirit which is exactly what the Student Council was going for.
It was remarkable to see how different everyone’s outfits looked, yet were still uniform, in the sense that they all had denim. Denim on Denim Day not only showed the diversity of our school, but also how much alike we can be. It was like an ocean full of fish. All the same fish, but with unique and different scales.
