For those of you that may not be aware, about 2 weeks ago, the very, very. VERY anticipated Marvel Movie “Avengers: Infinity War” came out. It’s already a record breaking movie, being the fastest movie to make a billion dollars in the box office! Now, if you have not seen the movie yet, PLEASE STOP READING THIS and GO WATCH IT NOW!!!!!!! (This is NOT a request!!!)!! I will be releasing (a lot) of spoilers, so PLEASE do not let this article ruin the wonderful experience.
Now, I have A LOT to say. First of all, HELLO?! I went to watch the movie for my one and only love – Tom Hiddleston, also known as Loki. It’s an understatement to say that I was thoroughly disappointed and was crying like a baby when he died approximately 3 minutes after the movie started. I wanted to leave the theatre right then and there. However, since I am a very DEVOTED person, I stayed and watched the movie just to write this review (and also to see Chris Hemsworth because yum).
Other than the very disappointing death of Loki, I think that the movie itself was very funny. I LOVED the interactions between all the characters – whether it was between Drax, Rocket, Groot, and Thor or Ironman and Dr. Strange – I loved every single moment of it. I felt like all my dreams were coming true. “Infinity War” is packed with humour, but at the same time, has a serious and tense vibe throughout the film. It’s a perfect mixture of both.
However, the movie was kind of anti-climatic. I feel like every movie I see is anti-climatic (if you read my Ready Player One review, you will know what I mean). It’s really hard for a movie to impress me with its ending and “Avengers: Infinity War” is no exception. Before going into the movie, I had expected a somewhat disappointing ending, since there is going to be a part 2. My expectations were not wrong.
Literally – everyone dies.
Okay, not everyone, but MOST PEOPLE die. It’s not like they got stabbed or anything, they turned to dust. Literally. And that only happens because Thanos had the Time Stone. It made me so mad that this tragic ending was caused by one single stone. I guess marvel needed some type of budget cut for Part 2.
And that’s it for now folks – that was my initial reaction for “Avengers: Infinity War”. To answer my original question, is the movie really worth all the hype?, Yes. I think it is. Not for the storyline though. For the interactions between all the superheroes in the movie. That is definitely worth all the hype. Do you agree?
