Krispy Kreme Doughnuts to Sweeten up Monday
Mehek Budshah, Features Writer
We all know how much of a pain it can be, coming to school on Mondays after a long relaxing weekend. However, last Monday, May 1st, the Youth Hunger Mission Foundation Club held a doughnut sale in the front foyer after school. It sweetened everyone’s Monday and warmed up some hearts in the Food Bank which is where the donations went.
“Our main club is in White Rock and we are the department in Langley. We are doing some food sales and we’ll use that money to give it to the food bank for the people that need help”
-YHMF Club Member at WGSS
The Youth Hunger Mission Foundation Club is a non-profit, youth-led, organization that raises funds through various means to donate to registered charities.
“Our goal is to raise awareness and funds to support at-risk youth in Greater Vancouver. At-risk youth include those who are living in poverty, fleeing abuse, dealing with mental health issues, vulnerable to exploitation, or living on the street.” -YHMF Official Website
Soft, sugary, and sweet, Krispy Kreme doughnuts are much loved by students and staff at our school. The sale turned out to be a fantastic fundraiser.
“Those doughnuts are the best things I’ve ever eaten!” – Allison Kuo, Grade 9 student
