Spirits were high on the morning of Friday, February 23rd as the annual Grade 8 Conference took place!
The Grade 8 Conference was filled with fun, inspiration and food! The Gator Leadership Club, who runs the conference every year, came to school on the Pro-D Day early in the morning to set up, shortly followed by the eager grade eights. The conference started off with awesome ice breakers, following with workshop sessions! There were four this year: Public Speaking, Collaboration, Personal Management and Involvement. Then came the AMAZING food, consisting of brownies, fruits, chips, candy, juice, cookies, muffins and so much more! At last but not least, WGSS alumni speakers such as Jason, Bonnie, Tara and Alex came to talk about how WGSS shaped their leadership skills and how they apply it to their current lives. Overall, it’s a safe bet that the Grade 8 Conference this year was a HUGE success! If you want to help out next year, please come to the Gator Leadership Club/Humanitarian Club on Thursdays at lunch at room 182. Hope to see you there!
